Arsenal Fans: Knobs
Oh no, I have had a nasty epiphany.
I was going to write in with a long defence of Ramsey, Giroud, the team that has been in fantastic form until last night's blip, about how there are still great signs of progress this season, that no team can win every game, etc.
But, in formulating said email, it dawned on me that the real problem is that Arsenal fans can be right knobs. I sort of get what you all mean now.

What's With All The Navel-Gazing?
Wow Loyd (Maybe it's the liquor talking and I'll feel differently tomorrow) ex-Arsenal devotee what on earth were you drinking, gin? Each pre-match ritual to its own I guess but pining over lost loves just before kick-off is a new one on me. Interesting reaction from Arsenal fans on the whole in today's mailbox although there is a groundhog day feel to these every time you lose.
Ok Giroud didn't have a great game but he's a very good player for you and integral to your game. He seems to be the go to whipping boy whenever you have a bad result and I can sort of see why, (after all he isn't Henry or Van Persie) but it wasn't him pinging tame shots straight at Fabianski all day long. Seriously, how many of those saves were top bag? That wasn't a game of sterile domination - you carved out a ton of chances but rushed finishing let you down on the night. It happens and before you get all navel gazey about it happening to Arsenal more than most, that hasn't actually been the case for the most part of this season.
On the future of football's soul, since when did we get so precious about away teams defending against superior teams? Pretty sure until a couple of years ago only a few teams would dare to go to Old Trafford and try and beat them at their own game, don't remember the moral outcry then. It's not even new for Arsenal - why do you think there were so many draws and 1-0s in the Invincibles season? Everyone was sh*t scared of getting pumped so they began setting up to make it as difficult as possible. It happened to Chelsea last season so they bought Fabregas. It happened to Madrid so they bought Modric. Arsenal have more than enough quality to unpick packed defences (hence 10 shots on target) but it won't go your way every time.
No need for the constant re-evaluation and handwringing just because you had an off night after a great run.
